Democracy Project (DP) is a Non-for-profit based out of Toronto, Canada that aims to introduce and maintain democratic institutions across the globe. Democracy can be fragile, and DP will utilize modern mechanisms such as media, machine learning and Blockchain technology to strengthen democracies around the world to the betterment of human rights and freedoms.

Despite recent improvements, the traditional voting system remains flawed and susceptible to a variety of risks. The future of voting is blockchain. Our team will work with blockchain companies to create voting processes that are reliable, stable and effective.
Support Independent Journalism
There has never been a greater need to ensure that independent, honest journalism continues to be the standard by which human beings receive their news and information. Our network will include PR experts, fact checkers, and media conglomerates who will develop a seamless distribution community. This will create a path for journalists to publish relevant material to spread necessary information into as many households around the world.

It is critical to create full transparency for government spending of public funds. Misappropriation of public funds is a major driving force in maintaining hegemony of power and abusing human rights. Our team will identify government funding and spending allocations across initiatives and programs worldwide by creating an alliance of auditors, forensic accountants, private investigators and independent journalists.

We will leverage machine learning to track online data from sources including news agencies, social media and online platforms. The integration of algorithms will allow us to analyze and disperse accurate information into the right hands.

Corruption, specifically within legislative policies, has become a norm in our modern-day society. We will instate a savvy team of constitutional lawyers and scholars, who through collaborative efforts will identify legislative issues across corrupt institutions, with the intention to reform existing laws that implement checks and balances to put the power back in the hands of citizens.
Create Fact-Based Multimedia Content
In our connected, digital world, it is imperative that information shared be fact-checked to ensure consistency and truth. We plan to utilize newly developed multimedia content including multilingual videos, to lay out a roadmap that educates, promotes and supports the expansion of democracy around the world.

Catalog Human Rights Violators
Document individuals and corporations who support authoritarian regimes carrying out human rights violations. Violations can include any civil, economic, political, social and cultural rights which have been perpetrated through a variety of means. By identifying and cataloging these crimes, we will help to identify the roots of the systemic abuse, and create an end to the lasting impact generations of families have become accustomed to.
