Why Democracy

Over the last several decades, citizens around the world are experiencing a massive decline with their democratic freedoms, including freedom of press, rule of law, and guarantees of fair and free elections. These are just some of the basic tenets of democracy that have been on a steady downward trajectory, as 73 countries have seen a decline in global freedoms in 2021 alone.*
It is time to strengthen the core values of democracy and support efforts to restore liberty and freedom for all citizens of the world. To paraphrase Winston Churchill, ‘It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government, except for all others that have been tried’.
